This article will show you how to uninstall Deep Freeze utility from a computer running Windows or Mac OS X. To uninstall Deep Freeze, you must first disable this utility by entering a password, and then restart your computer. If you don’t remember your Deep Freeze password, back up your files and reinstall your system to get rid of Deep Freeze.
Method1
- You can also right-click on the Deep Freeze icon.

Enter password. Enter your Deep Freeze password and click “Log in”.
- If you don’t know the password, back up your files and then reinstall your system.

Click the Boot Control tab. It is located in the upper left corner of the window.

Check the box next to the option “Boot Thawed” (Disable at boot). It is in the middle of the window. In this case, Deep Freeze will be disabled when the computer restarts.

Click Apply and Reboot. This option is in the lower right corner of the Deep Freeze window. The computer will go to reboot.
- If prompted, click OK > Yes.
- The computer will restart for a few minutes.

Wait about 30 minutes. When the computer restarts, it will run very slowly and some features (such as the Start menu) will be unavailable for several minutes. It will take about 30 minutes for the system to fully boot up.

Find the utility installer. Find the EXE file with which you installed Deep Freeze.
- There is no file to uninstall Deep Freeze; instead, you need to run the installer for this utility. If you can’t find the installer, download it from the Deep Freeze website.
- The Deep Freeze 5 installer is called DF5Std.exe.
- The Deep Freeze 6 installer is called DF6Std.exe.

Run the setup file. Double-click on the installer, in the window that opens, click “Uninstall” (Remove) and follow the instructions on the screen. The computer will restart and Deep Freeze will be completely removed.
- All files associated with Deep Freeze will also be deleted.

Start Deep Freeze. Click on the Deep Freeze polar bear icon. The menu will open.
- You can also press Ctrl+ ⌥ Option+ ⇧ Shift+F6 to open Deep Freeze.

Click Login. This option is in the menu. A text field for entering a password will open.

Enter the password for Deep Freeze. Enter the password you use to log into Deep Freeze, and then press ⏎ Return.
- If you don’t know the password, back up your files and then reinstall your system.

Click the Boot Control tab. It is located in the upper left corner of the window.

Click Remove. This button is at the bottom of the Deep Freeze window.

Follow the instructions on the screen. The computer will restart and Deep Freeze will be removed.
- Removing Deep Freeze takes time and patience. When you start the uninstallation process, do not press extra keys or try to open other programs.
- If your computer freezes while uninstalling Deep Freeze, force restarts it; to do this, hold down the computer’s power button.
