Virtual drive for your cloned DVDs
Have you ever needed to burn an ISO, IMG file, or DVD but didn’t have a spare or just didn’t want to go ahead?
If so, did you know that you can practically mount ISO files using a virtual drive like Virtual CloneDrive Download Windows 7? In fact, it’s like adding an extra DVD drive to your computer, but it practically exists on your desktop. You can also use it to create image files which can then be “pasted” into a virtual drive from your hard drive or a network drive and hence be used like a normal DVD.
You don’t even need to access the main interface to use it. You can either mount the file by right-clicking on it, or via explorer, which should give you the option to mount it there. When you do this, you will usually be prompted if you want Virtual CloneDrive to execute the Autorun.exe file in the ISO or IMG. Also, it will ask you if you want to view the files it contains.
The only problem I’ve had is with Vista, which is not officially supported, but everything works with it. However, it seems that after you have done the first mount, if you try to run another one, it may be unresponsive or only allow you to view files from which you can autorun the Autorun.exe file.
