Windows 10 is here to change the game
The Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Free Download marks a major turning point for the company. For the first time, Windows OS will be available for free – one year after its release for users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
Microsoft is promising to fully support Windows 10 for the entire lifecycle of a device (whether it’s a PC, laptop, tablet, or phone), which is a significant shift from its previous strategy of offering support for the OS for a limited period of time. It’s a significant part of the Seattle-based company’s growing focus on providing a service, not just a platform.
The Best of Both Worlds for Mobile and Desktop
By dropping the Windows 9 moniker, Microsoft is looking to start fresh and move on from the much-abused Windows 8. Windows 10 has a whole host of big changes and little tweaks, all designed to make it feel more complete – whether you’re using it on a computer, tablet, or phone.
The Start Menu The Start menu is one feature that keyboard and mouse users greatly missed in Windows 8, and Microsoft will delight its legion of Windows 7/XP fans by reintroducing (and redesigning) it in Windows 10. New Menu Start is a hybrid of sorts , incorporating the traditional Windows menu (list-style view) with Windows 8’s Live Tiles. It’s fully customizable; you can run it with different sizes of Live Tiles (small, medium, large) or nothing. There is also an option to see your most popular apps or list them alphabetically. There’s even a full-screen mode for the menus, which makes sense considering you can switch between tablet and desktop views on a hybrid device.
continuum This isn’t the only improvement Microsoft is making to the use of 2in1 hybrid devices. The new feature, called Continuum, will mean that Windows 10 will take on a different look and feel on those devices according to the mode you’re using (keyboard and mouse, or touch input).
Cortana Microsoft brought the virtual assistant Cortana (the Windows/Windows Phone equivalent of Siri) to Windows 10. The idea is to provide a more natural experience with your device, as well as provide smart recommendations based on your search history and manually entered settings.
Project Spartan Project Spartan is a new browser that has been specially created for Windows 10. Spartan allows you to directly comment on web pages to easily share your thoughts with friends; type of reading without attention; and a simplified article layout.
Access to your applications
Apps that are compatible across all devices are still the main focus for Microsoft. The company is working on a user-friendly version of its Office suite, as well as a range of Microsoft apps that will look and feel the same independently no matter what device you’re using.
Windows 10 users can create multiple virtual desktops to group apps or programs together. To add desktops, users need to click the “View Task” button on the desktop. This allows you to see all the applications running on your virtual desktops, as well as easily switch between both desktops and applications. The Snap Assist feature allows you to pin four different apps to your screen so you can see them all at once.
Other new additions to Windows 10 include the ability to search not only your system but the web as well. PC settings are also clearer, simpler, and more consistent across devices; Connecting to your audio and wireless network just got easier (either click the Connect button in the new Action Center or use the keyboard shortcut Windows + P); and you can easily choose which apps you receive notifications from.
Windows 10 Pro Free Download is much more convenient than Windows 8 and there won’t be such a shock to the system for those upgrading from Windows XP or Windows 7. With PC sales declining, Microsoft is shifting its focus to 2in1 devices that can switch between keyboard/mouse and touch mode. (think full-screen start menu and Continuum feature). There is also a lot of focus on ensuring a consistent experience for all parts of the OS across devices. With this strategy, Microsoft hopes to move further into the hybrid/tablet market while boosting sales of its mobile devices.
Windows 10 now makes it crystal clear how updates improve your system
One of the many problems that Windows 10 has is that every time you update the system, it doesn’t explicitly state exactly what has been improved. This creates a certain distrust for the user, which, to be honest, is not suitable for any brand.
